As a supporting figure in Short Fiction, Aunt Rosamond is not background color—the story leans on what they do once the chapter opens.
One of Lettice's aunts, who is critical of Lettice's appearance and behavior, advocating for social refinement.
Aunt Rosamond presides over her niece Lettice's London season with aquiline disapproval and a foot that taps a rapid tattoo whenever her brother Owen edges toward matchmaking. She champions the girl's right to know her own mind, yet drags her home by midnight with a frown that ends every ball early. Her stubborn, fermenting will shapes the debutante's first months and quietly determines which suitor the family takes seriously.
