The Wind in the Willows · Question
Who is Badger?
Answer
Badger lives in the wild wood — authoritative, solitary, respected, stern friend who shelters Mole and Rat in winter and leads recovery of Toad Hall. He represents wisdom and social gravity when Toad’s antics spin out.
Badger scolds without abandoning — locks Toad up, plans tunnel attack on weasels. Students should cite wild wood chapter hospitality and final siege leadership. He balances Rat’s river ease and Toad’s flash.
Evidence in the book

- The Return of Ulysses
