Friendship and Loyalty

The narrative contrasts true friendship, as shown by Drummond's protection of Sheen and Jack Bruce's support, with false friendship, exemplified by Stanning's manipulation and betrayal.

Sheen chooses loyalty to Drummond over Stanning, despite the social pressure.

Drummond offers blunt but caring advice to Sheen, showing loyalty by trying to help him navigate school social dynamics.

Drummond's immediate willingness to join the fight contrasts with Sheen's desertion, testing the bonds of their friendship.

Joe Bevan's immediate offer to teach Sheen and his protective intervention contrast with Sheen's isolation from his peers.
