First appearance: X: Tierra del Fuego
As a supporting figure in The Voyage of the Beagle, York Minster is not background color—the story leans on what they do once the chapter opens.
Another Fuegian being returned to his homeland aboard the Beagle.
York is the eldest and most watchful of the three Fuegians aboard, with eyes sharp enough to identify distant ships before any sailor. His jealousy over Fuegia Basket gives the small passenger group its quietest tension, a courtship unfolding under Darwin's notebook. He matters because his return, like Jemmy's, tests whether English manners can survive the voyage back.
