Tommy Tit is the friend everyone trusts with a confidence, whether he is feeding six babies in a hollow birch-stub or trading winks with Little Miss Fuzzytail beneath a bramble-bush. It is Tommy who tells her all about Peter Rabbit, and Tommy whose urging sends Happy Jack Squirrel running to Farmer Brown's boy instead of into Shadow's teeth. Small, busy, and endlessly kind, he stitches the little people of the Green Forest together.
