# Mrs. Forrest — Unnatural Death character guide

> Mrs. Forrest in Unnatural Death by Dorothy L. Sayers.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** a Mrs. Forrest, A Mrs. Forrest, the amiable Mrs. Forrest, Forrest

**First appearance:** 0005-v-gossip

## Snapshot

An amiable acquaintance of Mary Whittaker whose convenient hospitality and invented past make her the kind of friend a careful criminal would want on hand.

## Who they are

Mrs. Forrest presses drinks and overnight invitations on guests with a warmth that Wimsey finds altogether too eager, and her story of a dead lover rings false to anyone who has watched real inexperience. She is the sort of accomplice who supplies the sugar, the sofa, and the alibi. Her usefulness to the plot lies precisely in how ordinary she seems.
