# How does Ukridge Stories develop the theme of Romance and Marriage?

> Ukridge Stories by P. G. Wodehouse

## Answer

Ukridge Stories by P. G. Wodehouse develops Romance and Marriage across the chapters the companion marks for this theme.

Romantic entanglements appear in several stories, such as Ukridge's ill-fated love for Mabel (ruined by a top hat) and his chivalrous efforts to help Dora Mason, often complicating his schemes.

Ukridge's unexpected interest in Dora Mason and his courtly behavior suggest budding romantic feelings, contrasting with his usual financial preoccupations.

The chapter centers on Ukridge and Millie's engagement, threatened by the potential revelation of Ukridge's character to Lady Lakenheath.

Ukridge's pursuit of Mabel is complicated by a wealthier, titled rival, illustrating romantic rivalry as a central plot driver.
