As a supporting figure in Tragedy at Ravensthorpe, Foxy Polegate is not background color—the story leans on what they do once the chapter opens.
Proposes the idea of a fake robbery; forgetful of the ball details.
Foxton Polegate — 'Foxy' to everyone — is the kind of young man who drops in uninvited, loses his invitation card, and somehow ends up at the centre of a scheme involving thick gloves and the Medusa Medallions. Foss's overheard account places Foxy squarely in the plot to fake a theft, yet his easy manner and useful skills as an electrotyper make him hard to dismiss as a mere prankster. Whether he is a dupe, a conspirator, or something stranger, his presence keeps the question of the medallions alive.
