# How does Through the Looking-Glass develop the theme of Growth and Maturation?

> Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll

## Answer

Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll develops Growth and Maturation across the chapters the companion marks for this theme.

Alice's journey from a pawn to a queen mirrors the process of growing up, with Humpty Dumpty telling her she should have 'left off at seven' and the Queens subjecting her to absurd examinations.

Alice's journey toward becoming a Queen symbolizes her growth and maturation, as she is guided by the White Knight to the next stage.
