    Through the Looking-Glass

    Alice, curious about the world beyond her mirror, steps through the looking-glass into a reversed, dreamlike landscape where she encounters talking flowers, a Red Queen who instructs her on the rules of the chessboard land, and begins her journey to become a queen.

  4. Chapter 4

    Looking-Glass House

    Alice scolds her black kitten for mischief, then muses about the world beyond the looking-glass. She passes through the mirror into a reversed room where chess pieces are alive. She helps the White Queen and King, who cannot see or hear her, and reads the nonsense poem 'Jabberwocky' from a looking-glass book.

  5. Chapter 5

    II: The Garden of Live Flowers

    Alice tries to reach a hill but finds the path always leads back to the house. She discovers a garden where flowers can talk, and they criticize her appearance. She meets the Red Queen, who explains the landscape is a giant chessboard and offers Alice the role of a White Pawn. They run together without moving, and the Queen teaches Alice about the rules of the Looking-Glass world.
