## Snapshot

A returned-from-France nephew whose dream of gold led to a gilded coach, and whose trance before the lion and unicorn unsettles everyone.

## Who they are

Martin Hearne came home six months ago and threw himself into building a golden coach that has now been ordered by the Lord Lieutenant himself. But the flashing light on the lion and unicorn ornament has thrown him into a trance that no doctor's bottle can reach. His uncle Thomas wants a hardy tradesman; Father John suspects a soul gone beyond the world; and the beggars outside are already singing of a rebel returned from France.
