> Biddy Lally in The Unicorn from the Stars by Lady Gregory.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Biddy, Biddy Jumping

**First appearance:** 0001-the-unicorn-from-the-stars

## Snapshot

A looter with a sharp tongue and a sharper eye for plunder, Biddy Lally follows the rebel army for what she can carry away from the ashes.

## Who they are

Biddy Lally moves through the rebellion's wreckage with a bag open and a grudge ready, measuring silks and velvets against the risk of the red soldiers. She is quick to credit the leader's daring and quicker to notice when the takings fall short of the stories. Her running commentary — part greed, part fatalism — gives the rising its gritty, unromantic underside.
