# Victoria Cross Fellow — The Truth About Tristrem Varick character guide

> Victoria Cross Fellow in The Truth About Tristrem Varick by Edgar Saltus.

**Role:** supporting

**First appearance:** 0007-v

## Snapshot

A decorated military man whose presence in the Varick circle lends the affair a public, honor-bound dimension it might otherwise lack.

## Who they are

Victoria Cross Fellow carries the prestige of service and the expectations that come with it into the drawing rooms where Tristrem Varick's story unfolds. His standing makes him both a witness and a participant, a man whose code of honor collides with the murkier ethics of inheritance and desire. In the early to middle arc he represents the world's judgment in human form, measuring Tristrem against standards that may not fit.
