## Snapshot

A figure in Tristrem Varick's orbit whose ties to the central events make him a quiet hinge on which the story's misunderstandings turn.

## Who they are

Mr. Yorke moves through the same drawing rooms and confidences that surround Tristrem, and his connections place him near the heart of the affair the world will later get wrong. He is the kind of presence whose loyalties and silences shape what others believe they know. In the early to middle arc he helps set the terms of the mystery without ever quite becoming its center.
