## Who they are

Ragnarok is less a setting than an antagonist and accomplice at once, supplying the timber, water, and beasts that make the survivors' ambush possible while demanding years of labor in return. Its forests hide unicorn corrals and prowlers, its walls and tunnels shape the town's design, and its name carries the weight of a world that has already ended once. The planet's stubbornness sets the tempo of the middle arc, where twenty days of building and a hundred days of waiting decide whether the Gerns ever leave.
