## Snapshot

An older local figure whose steady presence and knowledge of the Lextons' affairs make him a quiet fixture in the world Ivy moves through.

## Who they are

Mr. Oram belongs to the respectable, watchful circle that surrounds the Lexton household, the sort of man whose long memory and local standing give weight to what he notices. His involvement in the family's affairs places him at the edge of the secrets Ivy keeps so carefully arranged. He matters as one of the grounded, unglamorous presences against which her charm and evasions are measured.
