As a supporting figure in The Special Correspondent, Madame Caterna is not background color—the story leans on what they do once the chapter opens.
A Frenchwoman with blonde hair and blue eyes, traveling with her husband and carrying luggage.
Caroline Caterna and her husband have played every provincial stage from La Ferté-sous-Jouarre to Buenos Aires, and she matches his comic energy line for line. When Kinko's arrest leaves Zinca Klork distraught, it is Madame Caterna who offers maternal consolation, treating the young Romanian's sorrow as seriously as any role. Her generosity of spirit makes the travelers' compartment feel briefly like a green room — communal, noisy, and kind.
