## Snapshot

A proud and watchful Tinneh chief whose daughter Zarinska becomes the prize in a white man's reckless campaign to possess her.

## Who they are

Chief Thling-Tinneh presides over his people with the gravity of a leader who has learned to measure the 'Sons of the Wolf' by their deeds, not their words. He receives Scruff Mackenzie's orations, tobacco, and hunting boasts with the patience of a man weighing a threat, while the younger warriors grow defiant and the Shaman bristles. His authority over Zarinska and his tribe makes him the hinge on which Mackenzie's courtship—and the story's central clash of cultures—turns.
