# Chet Morton — The Shore Road Mystery character guide > Chet Morton in The Shore Road Mystery by Franklin W. Dixon. **Role:** supporting **Also known as:** Chet, the luckless Chet, Morton **First appearance:** 0000-i-stolen-cars ## Snapshot Plump, good-natured, allergic to algebra, and secretly the most inventive tactician in the group—Chet Morton solves problems with bulldogs instead of bravado. ## Who they are Chet is the Hardy boys' high school chum from a farm outside Bayport, forever hungry and forever underestimated.
