Vorski's loyal and brutish henchman, Otto is the muscle behind his master's schemes and the first to pay when those schemes collapse.

## Who they are

Otto is one of the three men trapped in the underground passage when the staircase collapses, and his fate is sealed by the same trap that humiliates Vorski. He is the blunt instrument of Vorski's will, less clever than Conrad and less theatrical than his master, but no less dangerous. His presence in the early chapters establishes the threat Vorski poses, and his death in the burrow shows that the island's secrets claim even the most expendable of Vorski's allies.
