## Snapshot

A boy raised on an island of widows and rocks, François scrambles down the cliffs at the sound of a shell-trumpet, unaware of the inheritance closing around him.

## Who they are

François lives among the thirty remaining souls of Sarek, bare-calved and red-capped, with a comical dog named All's Well as his constant companion. He is the object of his mother's fourteen years of mourning and his father's cold calculations, a child whose parentage is both a wound and a weapon. His easy laughter and unguarded trust make him the emotional stake of the island's gathering menace.
