# Count Alexis Vorski — The Secret of Sarek character guide

> Count Alexis Vorski in The Secret of Sarek by Maurice Leblanc.

**Role:** major

**Also known as:** the Vorski, Alexis Vorski, Vorski, Alexis, Alex Vorski

**First appearance:** 0001-the-secret-of-sarek

## Snapshot

A self-styled son of kings who survived an internment camp by letting another man die in his name, Vorski returns to claim a wife and son he never stopped coveting.

## Who they are

Vorski's rhetoric is theatrical and his cruelty methodical: he reminds Véronique that their marriage still binds her in law, then demands not love but submission. His escape from a French camp, bought with another man's blood, feeds a sense of destiny he treats as license. As the antagonist who refuses to release his grip on the past, he turns Véronique's search for her son into a contest of wills she cannot simply walk away from.
