# George Winsor — The Plastic Age character guide

> George Winsor in The Plastic Age by Percy Marks.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Winsor

**First appearance:** 0004-iii

## Snapshot

A genial, self-confessed gambling fiend in Hugh's circle, forever swearing off craps and forever sitting back down at the table.

## Who they are

Winsor embodies the campus's cheerful self-indulgence: a hundred berries to the good, a quiz in eccy the next morning, and still unable to resist a two-bit-limit game that will soon go sky-high. He is bound for medical school, which makes his weakness more poignant than damning. As one of the 'good eggs' Hugh drinks and bulls with, he gives the novel its texture of ordinary collegiate drift — and its ache at goodbye.
