**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Walden, Slater, III Walden Slater, the silent Walden Slater

**First appearance:** 0001-the-place-called-dagon

## Snapshot

A laconic Marlborough farmer who whittles instead of talking, answers questions with questions, and carries a revolver under his coat when the night demands it.

## Who they are

Walden Slater is the still center of the town's taciturn surface, a man whose opaque eyes and mild 'Umph' deflect every inquiry Dreeme makes. Yet he is the one who wakes Dreeme in a downpour and leads him into the storm, armed and wordless, toward whatever waits. His silence is not ignorance but discipline, and his willingness to act marks him as one of the few villagers Dreeme can trust.
