# Mr. Folliot — The Paradise Mystery character guide

> Mr. Folliot in The Paradise Mystery by J. S. Fletcher.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Mr. Stephen Folliot, Folliot, Stephen Folliot

**First appearance:** 0000-i-only-the-guardian

## Snapshot

A mild, spectacled rose-grower who offers a thousand-pound reward for information, and who listens to Glassdale's story with more calm than surprise.

## Who they are

Folliot is the benevolent-looking gentleman among his rose trees who has posted a reward for anything touching the Wrychester death, and who receives Glassdale with dry, unhurried questions. His habit of peering over his spectacles and his refusal to be startled make him hard to read, even as he probes for what Glassdale really knows. He matters because his reward and his interest suggest he is not merely a curious neighbor.
