> Mr. Lambert in The Napoleon of Notting Hill by G. K. Chesterton.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Lambert, Wilfrid Lambert, Mr. Wilfrid Lambert

**First appearance:** 0011-i-the-mental-condition-of-adam-wayne

## Snapshot

A jovial, restless companion of Quin's idle days, whose casual dare sets the King's whole career of public clowning in motion.

## Who they are

Lambert is the friend who taunts Quin into standing on his head in Kensington Gardens, never imagining the consequences of goading a man with nothing to lose. He is cheerfully irresponsible, more amused than alarmed by the chaos he helps unleash. His presence keeps the early chapters light, before the joke curdles into bloodshed.
