## Snapshot

Lady Tamplin's blunt, sharp-eyed daughter, who warns Katherine against her mother's schemes and becomes the one honest friend in a house of pretense.

## Who they are

Lenox Tamplin sees through her mother's social maneuvering with a sardonic clarity that she hides behind a sullen manner and a grin. She warns Katherine not to be taken in, then decides she likes her precisely because Katherine is sincere and no fool. Her frankness gives the Nice chapters their moral counterweight, and her friendship anchors Katherine as the murder investigation begins to draw strangers into their circle.
