# How does The Man from the Clouds develop the theme of Patriotism and Duty?

> The Man from the Clouds by J. Storer Clouston

## Answer

The Man from the Clouds by J. Storer Clouston develops Patriotism and Duty across the chapters the companion marks for this theme.

Characters act out of national loyalty—the protagonist's risky mission, the Navy's vigilance, and even the spy's fanatical service to Germany—illustrating how duty can justify extreme personal sacrifice and moral compromise.

The mission is framed as a duty to the country, with Sir Francis emphasizing the importance of the task.

Jean's clever tracking and the group's determination to capture the spy reflect patriotic duty.
