# Sir Andrew Ffoulkes — The League of the Scarlet Pimpernel character guide

> Sir Andrew Ffoulkes in The League of the Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Ffoulkes, Bart, Sir Andrew

**First appearance:** 0001-i

## Snapshot

Sir Percy's steadfast lieutenant, whose quiet loyalty and steady nerve hold the League together when treachery threatens from within its own ranks.

## Who they are

Ffoulkes is the reliable counterweight to the Pimpernel's maddening insouciance — the friend who watches, worries, and prepares while his chief shrugs off warnings of Kulmsted's disloyalty. He belongs to the tight brotherhood of English gentlemen who risk fortune and life for strangers across the Channel. In an expedition shadowed by betrayal, his constancy matters because it shows what the League is at its best: courage that does not need an audience.
