## Who they are

Otso is the forest's crowned guest, the Honey-paw whose arrival turns a hunt into a ritual feast of thanksgiving. Wainamoinen sings him home over the snow, and the whole village rushes out to greet him as a long-awaited treasure. His welcome shows how the Kalevala treats the natural world as kin and how song can transform even a killing into ceremony.
