# Poiccart — The Just Men of Cordova character guide

> Poiccart in The Just Men of Cordova by Edgar Wallace.

**Role:** major

**First appearance:** 0000-i-three-men-of-cordova

## Snapshot

A grave, bearded caballero whose impeccable Andalusian manners and velvet-lined cloak make him easy to underestimate until the moment he chooses to act.

## Who they are

Poiccart sits at the Café of the Great Captain, unhurried and unreadable, dispensing alms with a proverb and watching the street with eyes that seem to search for something they have not yet found. His composure under the beggar's relentless pleading hints at a discipline honed far beyond ordinary patience. As one of the Four Just Men, he brings to Cordova the quiet menace of a man whose courtesy is a weapon and whose leisure is a cover.
