# Iimmi — The Jewels of Aptor character guide

> Iimmi in The Jewels of Aptor by Samuel R. Delany.

**Role:** major

**First appearance:** 0001-the-jewels-of-aptor

## Snapshot

The level-headed one who keeps track of the turns, touches his jewel for light, and asks the questions the others are too proud to voice.

## Who they are

Iimmi is the group's navigator and its quiet skeptic, counting turns on the dark highways and wondering aloud whether the naked figure they saw was running from them. He carries a jewel that glows when touched, a small comfort against the deepening night. Where Urson wants treasure and Geo wants meaning, Iimmi wants to understand what they're walking into — and his careful attention to detail is what keeps the party from losing its way.
