# Miss Eltham — The Insidious Dr. Fu-Manchu character guide

> Miss Eltham in The Insidious Dr. Fu-Manchu by Sax Rohmer.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Greba Eltham, Greba

**First appearance:** 0003-iv

## Snapshot

Greba Eltham survives a drugged railway carriage and a yellow-faced stranger with a case of instruments, becoming both witness and target in Fu-Manchu's campaign.

## Who they are

Returning from London with her father, Greba is drugged, wakes to a menacing figure leaning over her, and faints before she can scream, leaving only fragments of memory that Smith must piece together. Her account is the fragile thread that first ties the Redmoat disturbances to Fu-Manchu's methods, and her composure under subsequent horror makes her more than a passive victim. She matters because the danger aimed at her forces the men around her into action and gives the investigation its human stake.
