As a supporting figure in The Insidious Dr. Fu-Manchu, Frank Norris West is not background color—the story leans on what they do once the chapter opens.
American aviator and inventor found drugged in his chambers after an apparent invasion.
West moves through the investigation as an outsider with a reporter's instinct for the sensational, tagging along where Smith and Petrie probe the edges of Fu-Manchu's web. His professional hunger for a scoop sits uneasily beside the genuine terror of what he witnesses, making him both useful and a liability. He matters because his presence widens the circle of civilians snared by the conspiracy, showing how far the Doctor's reach extends beyond official channels.
