## Snapshot

The Reverend and Honourable Wilfred Bohun, an ascetic aristocrat whose dawn prayers and Gothic obsessions shadow his dissolute brother's scandalous nights.

## Who they are

Wilfred Bohun belongs to an ancient family rotted into drink and dandy degeneracy, and he has answered that decay with black-clad piety, kneeling in crypts and belfries rather than at the altar. His brother, Colonel Norman, is his opposite: a wolfish, yellow-haired sensualist drinking through the small hours, and the two meet at dawn in a street that will soon hold a corpse. Some whisper that Wilfred loves Gothic architecture more than God, and that his morbid thirst for beauty is only a purer turn of his brother's vice, a suspicion that makes his devoutness feel precarious rather than safe.
