# Piglet — The House at Pooh Corner character guide > Piglet in The House at Pooh Corner by A. A. Milne. **Role:** major **Also known as:** little Piglet **First appearance:** 0002-the-house-at-pooh-corner ## Snapshot A Very Small Animal who trembles at wind and wolves alike, yet keeps planting acorns and following Pooh into whatever comes next. ## Who they are Piglet lives halfway between Pooh's house and his own, at a Thoughtful Spot where the two of them sit and wonder what to do now that they have seen each other. He wants Reasons for things — Looking for Small, Organizing an Expotition — and worries that he is too small to matter. His quiet courage, and his willingness to nudge Pooh when Pooh cannot finish a sentence, make him the hinge on which several of the book's rescues turn. ## Relationships ### [Eeyore](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/the_house_at_pooh_corner_se/characters/eeyore) _friendship_ Eeyore and Piglet are gentle friends, with Piglet often showing sympathy for Eeyore's sadness. ### [Tigger](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/the_house_at_pooh_corner_se/characters/tigger) _friendship_ Piglet is often startled by Tigger's exuberance but remains a loyal friend. ### [Christopher Robin](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/the_house_at_pooh_corner_se/characters/christopher_robin) _friendship_ Christopher Robin is kind and protective of Piglet, treating him as a dear little friend. ### [Rabbit](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/the_house_at_pooh_corner_se/characters/rabbit) _friendship_ Piglet and Rabbit are friends, though Rabbit's bossiness sometimes overwhelms timid Piglet. ### [Owl](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/the_house_at_pooh_corner_se/characters/owl) _friendship_ Owl and Piglet are acquaintances, with Owl's pomposity amusing the timid Piglet. ### [Heffalump](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/the_house_at_pooh_corner_se/characters/heffalump) _psychological_ Heffalumps are mythical creatures that Piglet fears, representing his anxieties and imagination. ### [Tigger](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/the_house_at_pooh_corner_se/characters/tigger) _friendship_ Piglet is often startled by Tigger's exuberance but remains a loyal friend. ### [Eeyore](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/the_house_at_pooh_corner_se/characters/eeyore) _friendship_ Eeyore and Piglet are gentle friends, with Piglet often showing sympathy for Eeyore's sadness. ### [Christopher Robin](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/the_house_at_pooh_corner_se/characters/christopher_robin) _friendship_ Christopher Robin is kind and protective of Piglet, treating him as a dear little friend. ### [Owl](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/the_house_at_pooh_corner_se/characters/owl) _friendship_ Owl and Piglet are acquaintances, with Owl's pomposity amusing the timid Piglet. ### [Rabbit](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/the_house_at_pooh_corner_se/characters/rabbit) _friendship_ Piglet and Rabbit are friends, though Rabbit's bossiness sometimes overwhelms timid Piglet. ### [Eeyore](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/the_house_at_pooh_corner_se/characters/eeyore) _friendship_ Eeyore and Piglet are gentle friends, with Piglet often showing sympathy for Eeyore's sadness. ## In the story ### [The House at Pooh Corner](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/the_house_at_pooh_corner_se/chapters/the-house-at-pooh-corner) Piglet shares in the sadness of the farewell, demonstrating his quiet loyalty. ### [In Which a House Is Built at Pooh Corner for Eeyore](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/the_house_at_pooh_corner_se/chapters/i-in-which-a-house-is-built-at-pooh-corner-for-eeyore) Piglet helps Pooh build the house and nervously reveals the truth about its location, feeling proud of his contribution. ### [In Which Tigger Comes to the Forest and Has Breakfast](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/the_house_at_pooh_corner_se/chapters/ii-in-which-tigger-comes-to-the-forest-and-has-breakfast) Piglet meets Tigger, offers haycorns, and feels nervous about Tigger's size and bouncing. ### [III: In Which a Search Is Organdized, and Piglet Nearly Meets the Heffalump Again](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/the_house_at_pooh_corner_se/chapters/iii-in-which-a-search-is-organdized-and-piglet-nearly-meets-the-heffalump-again) Piglet is found underneath Pooh in the trap.
