Chet is the comic anchor of the group, standing on his head when the exam results come in and groaning that they've all failed before Frank springs the joke. He and Biff ride along to Mr. Grice's store, where the news of a twenty-thousand-dollar airport robbery first reaches the boys. His easy presence keeps the chums together while the mystery pulls Frank and Joe away.
