# What Honor and Courage means in The Gold Bat

> Characters like Trevor and O'Hara demonstrate physical and moral courage, facing fights and standing up for what is right, even when outmatched or at personal risk.

## Explanation

Characters like Trevor and O'Hara demonstrate physical and moral courage, facing fights and standing up for what is right, even when outmatched or at personal risk.

Rand-Brown is criticized for 'funking' (cowardice) in tackles, while Barry is praised for his tackling, linking courage to honor in school sports.

Trevor insists on facing Rand-Brown despite knowing he is outmatched, driven by a sense of personal honor and refusal to back down.

O'Hara fights Rand-Brown to defend his own honor regarding the lost gold bat, and Trevor's desire to fight shows his own sense of honor.
