**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Yūn

**First appearance:** 0024-of-the-calamity-that-befell-y-n-il-ra-by-the-sea-and-of-the-building-of-the-tower-of-the-ending-of-days

## Snapshot

A storm-god who cursed Death from his sea-tower in youth, then spent ages begging for the very mercy he once despised.

## Who they are

Yūn-Ilāra rules sea and storm from a tower by the shore of the world, and his long defiance of Mung, the god of Death, becomes the measure of his pride. As Sish grinds the hours away, whiteness takes his hair and ivy his tower, and his curses curdle into longing for the rest he refused. His reversal gives the book one of its starkest portraits of a god learning what mortality means.
