# Māna-Yood-Sushāī — The Gods of Pegāna character guide

> Māna-Yood-Sushāī in The Gods of Pegāna by Lord Dunsany.

**Role:** major

**Also known as:** Māna, Yood-Sushāī

**First appearance:** 0002-the-gods-of-peg-na

## Snapshot

The sleeping maker of the gods, whose rest is kept by a drummer's endless beat and whose waking would end the worlds.

## Who they are

Māna-Yood-Sushāī made the gods, grew drowsy, and fell asleep, leaving Skarl to drum forever so he will not stir. The gods play with worlds and men only because he rests, and they dread his laughter more than his wrath. He is the silence at the center of Pegāna — unseen, unspoken to, the reason every other god's power is borrowed and every game is temporary.
