## Snapshot

A Forsyte uncle and father of many children, a man of property whose branch of the family swells the clan's numbers and its sense of its own importance.

## Who they are

Nicholas stands among the older Forsyte brothers, a prosperous paterfamilias whose numerous offspring thicken the family tree. He belongs to the generation that has done well for itself and takes that success as proof of worth, part of the clan's formidable tenacity. His presence at family gatherings, including Roger's funeral, helps establish the dense, self-regarding world the younger Forsytes must navigate.
