# Griffiths — The Experiences of Loveday Brooke, Lady Detective character guide

> Griffiths in The Experiences of Loveday Brooke, Lady Detective by Catherine Louisa Pirkis.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Mr. Griffiths, Detective Griffiths

**First appearance:** 0000-the-black-bag-left-on-a-doorstep

## Snapshot

A police colleague drawn into the Druce affair, Griffiths helps set the official machinery moving while Loveday Brooke works the room from the inside.

## Who they are

Griffiths belongs to the professional network of inspectors and detectives who hand cases to Loveday and then watch, half-skeptical, as she outthinks them. His world is procedure, jurisdiction, and the cautious plural pronoun — the institutional counterweight to her intuitive, drawing-room methods. He matters because the friction between official police work and Loveday's quieter approach is exactly where the early mysteries gather their tension.
