**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Sir Andrew, Ffoulkes

**First appearance:** 0005-iv-the-richmond-gala

## Snapshot

Once a man of sport and adventure, Sir Andrew now lingers at garden gates, his love for his young wife having eclipsed every other passion.

## Who they are

Sir Andrew Ffoulkes was the last guest to leave Blakeney Manor, walking home to the wife whose tears and wiles keep him from following the Scarlet Pimpernel on mad adventures. Society smiles at his effeminate devotion, but Marguerite, watching the young couple, feels a half-acknowledged envy: Percy loves her too, yet holds himself in check, as if she were secondary to some larger design. Sir Andrew's transformation from daring league member to uxorious husband quietly measures the cost of love against the pull of heroic action.
