**Also known as:** Juliette, Marny, Juliette de Marny

## Snapshot

A young French exile in a borrowed white gown, trusting an old priest with her dead mother's diamonds and her whole future.

## Who they are

Juliette Marny has fled revolutionary France with little but her father's name and a quiet grief, and Lady Blakeney has taken her in. Her innocent confidence that the Abbé Foucquet will keep her mother's jewels safe in a Boulogne crypt is exactly the kind of trust the Terror punishes. Her hopes and her vulnerability sharpen the stakes of the Boulogne rescue, tying the Blakeneys' private drama to the fate of ordinary people caught in the machinery.
