## Snapshot

A quick-witted, pretty young woman whose chatter about Babinich's heroics and her own romantic hopes lights up every scene she enters.

## Who they are

Anusia arrives at Taurogi as a traveler with a story, and within an evening she has charmed the sword-bearer Billevich and coaxed Olenka out of her grief. She is half in love with the mysterious Babinich, half performing for her audience, stamping her foot when teased and mimicking herself for laughs. Her vivacity matters because it gives the besieged household a pulse of ordinary life, and because her sharp eyes catch details about Babinich that others miss.
