# Lord Andrew Belmanoir — The Black Moth character guide

> Lord Andrew Belmanoir in The Black Moth by Georgette Heyer.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Andrew, Lord Andrew, Uncle Andrew

**First appearance:** 0002-ii-my-lord-at-the-white-hart

## Snapshot

A nobleman who bursts through locked doors and arrives uninvited, his loyalties as unpredictable as his timing is inconvenient.

## Who they are

Lord Andrew moves through the novel's crises with a cheerful disregard for whose side he is on, crashing through a locked door to interrupt a duel one moment and fetching water for the wounded the next. His connection to the Belmanoir family places him at the intersection of the novel's darkest secrets and its most chaotic rescues. Whether he is a help or a hazard depends entirely on the moment, which makes him impossible to dismiss and dangerous to trust.
