# The Han Officer — The Airlords of Han character guide

> The Han Officer in The Airlords of Han by Philip Francis Nowlan.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** himself

**First appearance:** 0000-i-the-airlords-besieged

## Snapshot

A sneering Han captor who escorts the narrator through enemy territory with hollow courtesies and open contempt, revealing the strange moral rot of his race.

## Who they are

He commands the Han detail that takes the narrator prisoner, treating rank and ritual as weapons of petty humiliation rather than genuine respect. His crude mockery of his own Air Lord exposes the cynical, backbiting culture that holds the Han empire together through fear alone. Through him the narrator first learns that Han discipline is heartless theater, and that even captors despise one another — a lesson that colors every later encounter with the enemy.
