## Snapshot

A lazy, mischievous boy who tempts Pinocchio away from school with promises of endless play in the Land of Boobies.

## Who they are

Candlewick is the bad companion every teacher warns against, a boy who brags that books and arithmetic are for fools and that only friends who free you from school truly care. He persuades Pinocchio to abandon his studies and join him in a town of perpetual amusement, where the two revel in idleness for months. His flattery and false generosity embody the seduction of easy pleasure, and his friendship is the direct cause of Pinocchio's most humiliating transformation.
