# Princess Guinalda — Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle character guide

> Princess Guinalda in Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Guinalda

**First appearance:** 0004-v-the-tarmangani

## Snapshot

A princess of hidden Nimmr who begs a passing jungle lord to carry word to her absent knight, then watches him ride away with a blessing on her lips.

## Who they are

Guinalda belongs to a crusader-descended city sealed in the Valley of the Sepulcher, where she is royalty and, to a wandering American, the whole point of coming back alive. Her heart is fixed on Blake, and she makes no secret of it — she tells Tarzan plainly that Nimmr's gates stand open and that she waits for his return. That waiting is her tension: a woman of rank whose desire can only be answered by a man riding through leopard-haunted country. She anchors the romance that pulls the valley's two worlds toward collision.
