# Nasrany Stimbol — Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle character guide > Nasrany Stimbol in Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle by Edgar Rice Burroughs. **Role:** supporting **Also known as:** Nasrany, Mr. Stimbol, Stimbol, the Nasrany **First appearance:** 0002-iii-the-apes-of-toyat ## Snapshot An arrogant American hunter whose contempt for Tarzan and for the men who serve him earns him humiliation, exile, and a long road toward reckoning. ## Who they are Stimbol treats the jungle as a private game reserve and its people as servants, and Tarzan's quiet dismantling of that assumption leaves him stripped of porters, dignity, and control. He marches out of the country swearing vengeance he knows is futile, resentment burning hotter than sense. His collision with the ape-man is the novel's clearest study of what happens when entitlement meets a law older than any nation. ## Relationships ### [James Hunter Blake](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/characters/james_hunter_blake) _rivalry_ James and Nasrany are bitter adversaries, with Nasrany often scheming against James and his allies. ### [Fahd Ibn Jad](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/characters/fahd_ibn_jad) _professional_ Fahd and Nasrany are co-conspirators in a professional alliance, often plotting for mutual gain. ### [Tarzan](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/characters/tarzan) _rivalry_ Nasrany and Tarzan are direct enemies, with Nasrany frequently attempting to capture or kill Tarzan. ### [James Hunter Blake](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/characters/james_hunter_blake) _rivalry_ James and Nasrany are bitter adversaries, with Nasrany often scheming against James and his allies. ### [Fahd Ibn Jad](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/characters/fahd_ibn_jad) _professional_ Fahd and Nasrany are co-conspirators in a professional alliance, often plotting for mutual gain. ### [Tarzan](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/characters/tarzan) _rivalry_ Nasrany and Tarzan are direct enemies, with Nasrany frequently attempting to capture or kill Tarzan. ### [Tarzan](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/characters/tarzan) _rivalry_ Nasrany and Tarzan are direct enemies, with Nasrany frequently attempting to capture or kill Tarzan. ## In the story ### [Bolgani the Gorilla](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/chapters/iv-bolgani-the-gorilla) Stimbol attempts to shoot Bolgani for a trophy but is thwarted by Tarzan; he later abuses a porter, leading to a confrontation with Blake. ### [V: The Tarmangani](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/chapters/v-the-tarmangani) Stimbol recounts his encounter with Tarzan, attempts to divide the safari, and shows contempt for the native porters. ### [Ara the Lightning](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/chapters/vi-ara-the-lightning) Humiliated by Tarzan, disobeys orders by hunting, is deserted by his men, and attempts to kill the unconscious Tarzan. ### [In the Beyt of Zeyd](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/chapters/xiii-in-the-beyt-of-zeyd) Lies to Tarzan about Blake's whereabouts; is manipulated by Ibn Jad into attempting to kill Tarzan. ### [XV: The Lonely Grave](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/chapters/xv-the-lonely-grave) Commits the murder of Tarzan; is seized by Ibn Jad and later bargains with Fahd for his life. ### [Lord Tarzan](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/chapters/xix-lord-tarzan) Mentioned as the white man in Ibn Jad's menzil; Tarzan confirms his identity before leaving. ### [XXI: “For Every Jewel a Drop of Blood!”](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/chapters/xxi-for-every-jewel-a-drop-of-blood) Weak and feverish, he follows Fahd closely, hoping to use his promised wealth to secure Fahd's help. ### [XXII: Bride of the Ape](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/chapters/xxii-bride-of-the-ape) Flees with Fahd after the ape attack. ### [XXIV: Where Trails Met](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/chapters/xxiv-where-trails-met) Found wounded by Blake, confesses his remorse, and is taken for care. ## Links - HTML: https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/characters/nasrany_stimbol - Book: https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se - All characters: https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/tarzan_lord_of_the_jungle_se/characters
